About me
I originally became a Film and Media researcher because that was where my passion was.
I originally began my dissertation on how Dungeons & Dragons players were coping with the pandemic because that was where my passion was.
Today, I study gamers, online communities, and TRPGS because that is where my passion continues to be.
Whatever the subject or role, know that I’ll be putting all of myself into my work, that’s the only way I’ve ever known how to do it.
Creative and Academic Writing
From “Top 10” lists to 250-page research projects, I can write at any level for any audience while always conducting proper background research and showcasing my personal brand. My goal, regardless of the target audience, is that the reader never finds themselves confused, a vital talent for academics.
Qualitative UX Research
With more than 7 years of total experience, my research focuses on the experiences users have with media technology. My expertise lies in participant-focused interviews, ethnography, focus groups, and content analysis.
Interpersonal Communication
Even before entering communication studies, one of my strengths has always been my ability to speak with others comfortably, respectfully, and efficiently. I won 2nd place at the 3 Minute Thesis competition during my doctoral program for condensing my years of work into a 3 minute presentation.
Public Speaking
Alongside my communication skills, I’ve taught over 150 students in Public Speaking, both in-person and virtually during the pandemic. I’ve also had the honor of spending 3 years coaching the Bowling Green State University Speech and Debate team, who were National champions in 2021.
